A mobile pastured poultry/ eggs business that applied to Pitch Up! 2024. The founder, Rodrigo Navarro, is an experienced chef leaving behind London’s high end hospitality world to live off the land in Hampshire.

Wandering Feathers raise their regenerative eggs in our circular local system, feeding the soil, biodiversity and people the way we all deserve.
The chickens follow the Roaming Dairy herd with their mobile egg-laying units – and produce some of the tastiest, most sustainable eggs around.
The Roaming Dairy's cows graze Kingsclere's organic pasture and herbal leys (a mix of plants including chicory and clover), transforming it into delicious milk and producing manure – which returns valuable nutrients to the earth, increases the soil’s fertility and provides food and habitat for many species of insects. The chickens peck at the cow dung, feeding on the insects found within – just as nature intended, which means they need fewer protein supplements in their diet. Their pecking also exposes any bugs to sunlight that kills off any unwanted bacteria – making what returns to the soil even healthier. By allowing the animals to behave naturally, we minimise waste, create a healthy environment and ensure the highest levels of animal welfare.
The eggs – a product of this natural process – are delicious and nutritious, free from chemical sprays and additives. If you live in the Basingstoke area, stop at the Wandering Feathers vending machine at Folly Farm on the A339 and try some yourself!
We’ve shared the capital costs, installing the Egg Shed vending machine and investing in the mobile shed units, while Rodrigo has bought the flock and other items needed to set it up. We share the ongoing running costs and income from egg sales. It’s an exciting business that looks set to fly!
